Community matters. Meaningful connections are magical. Mentorship creates opportunity for growth and learning for everyone involved. Relationships are the foundation for everything.
I believe in these statements. They are my truths. And, despite all that 2020 has served us in terms of local, national, and world news – from the global pandemic, to racial injustice, to crippling weather, and more – these truths also bring me hope.
McCann Partners has long prioritized being client-forward. Like many organizations in our position, we have pivoted and worked tirelessly to stay connected and engaged with the communities, clients, and talent we serve.
Case in point, recently we welcomed two Chicago-based organizations, ChiTech Academy High School and i.c. stars, to a bi-weekly roundtable we’ve held for senior leaders in diversity and inclusion, human resources, talent acquisition, and technology. We have partnered and collaborated, supported, and promoted both groups since our initial introductions. The topic for our recent roundtable was “Learning as We Climb,” and the discussion focused on the importance of lifting the next generation with our support, mentorship, and commitment to hiring future female leaders. The conversations with each visiting group was memorable, inspirational, and impactful.
Over this three-part blog series, we will share insights from both organizations, including success stories from alumni of their programs, lessons learned, eye-opening moments which facilitated change, and – above all – the power of community, mentorship, and relationships.
Check back in the new few weeks to meet the first of these two amazing organizations and follow along for the entire series and be inspired by all that is courageously happening in our community.
