Summary
This position is responsible for design. administration and support of the client's LAN/WAN environment. Provides direct technical support for all requirements in the planning, coordination, programming, and implementation of releases, upgrades, or changes to network, and the range of products and productivity tools that support the testing and production environments relating to network computing. This position ensures stable performance for all environments through performance monitoring and tuning, and performs capacity planning, workload modeling, prediction, and ensures systems maintenance of all related systems. In addition, the individual will plan and implement major software upgrades to network related systems or equipment, ensuring change management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed. This individual will lead and mentor other engineers to expand their skill sets, breadth of knowledge as well as to resolve tougher technical issues.
Description
- Plan, coordinate, and/or implement all network systems and related software in accordance with corporate policy and direction. ·
- Develop project plans and provide time estimates on related project work. Communicate status of projects.
- Be accountable for the following principal activities.
- Performance and tuning analysis, Capacity planning, Long-term strategic planning, Problem resolution tracking, Manage and maintain software upgrades to network related systems and planning.
- Be responsible for design and architecture and documentation of the Griffith global network.
- Mentor and supervise other network engineers on projects and technologies. ·
- Be responsible for software installation of network related systems, product troubleshooting, and detailed technical documentation.
- Provide advanced technical support to Global IT, customers, project managers, and product developers.
- Analyze, design, code, test, debug, maintain, modify, and document network operating systems to meet business requirements.
- Determine systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
- Recommend purchase of products or services necessary to support the test and production operating environments.
- Provide business and technical consultation and support to users and other global technical units.
- Bachelor's degree from four-year university and 10+ years related experience of network and end user computing administration.
- Cisco certifications required: CCNP or higher.
- Advanced experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting LAN's, WAN's, Firewalls & Wireless networks.
- Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery). Support Griffith’s ongoing risk initiatives.
- Skills and behaviors needed to teach, tailor messaging, and—when necessary—to assert control during interactions with business partners.
- In depth experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
- Ability to analyze and assess network architecture requirements and determine optimum, cost-effective solutions.
- Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate or lead multiple projects from beginning to end. Understanding and support of current ITIL processes.
- IOS software: Proficiency in advanced switch/router setup and programming, IP design and functionality, cabling infrastructure, network protocol analyzing, network traffic troubleshooting, Cisco IOS and IOS related devices.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills. Will be creating and updating design documents.
- Palo Alto Firewall: proficiency in configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting Palo Alto Firewalls as well as utilizing to segment internal traffic
